February

This month has been a doozy in that nothing went as planned, between COVID and a snow day.  On the plus side, we had some fun along the way and made a lot of plans for more fun!  We celebrated 10 years of marriage, visited some of our oldest friends, visited family, and booked spring break and summer trips!

Speaking of booking things, we found out that I got invited back to Double Decker, and that is a huge, happy thing!  Get ready, y’all! I’m doing a double booth this year, and I will be bringing my Happy Boots along with my paintings!  I hope to have some pieces specifically designed with dorm rooms in mind!  So come see me on April 26th in Oxford!  I’ll also be doing trunk shows in Starkville at LA Green and Little Magnolia during Super Bulldog Weekend, which is the first weekend in May, so make sure and come see me there if you’re in town!

This month, a really fun thing for me has been prepping for our anniversary trip this spring.  We used a planner, so the hard part was handled by someone else, so I am enjoying watching YouTubes on local shopping and dining we might be interested in and making sure we have the right gear and clothes.  I nerd all the way out when planning trips, y’all! I like to know all the things so that I can be as much of an expert as possible and “host” my family that’s with me once we get there.  Travel is the only time you’ll see my Type A come out, but oh boy does it!  Any spreadsheet planners reading this?  A few of the things I’ve found and can’t wait to use on our travels are Subtl makeup stacks, Quince brand capsule pieces, a travel eye mask and Turtl neck thingy for sleeping on the plane and some dual voltage travel hair tools.  Most of these things will also be great for all the weekends we travel to grandparents’ houses and art shows, which we do often!  I’m still really torn about how to decide which carryon and personal items I want to bring on our international flight.  I’d love any suggestions y’all have for best practices!  I like to have all my entertainment and travel gadgets right under my feet with easy access, and I can’t decide between my rolling train/briefcase, my Lo and Sons tote, or a carryon design backpack. And, guys, don’t think for a minute I’m trying to pack in a carryon.  No one will give me a trophy for such a challenge, and I’m not competitive anyway!

I’m excited to come back here and share details from a little adventure my mom is taking the kids and I on, and I’m going to try really hard to not go so long between this and my next post!  Thanks so much for following along!

Talk soon,

TJH
